THE MINI DRESS, MY CLOSET how I love thee. Mini dresses are versatile and take care of nearly an entire outfit with little effort. I have a ton of body-conscious mini dresses and a fair amount of loose ones as well. It’s also where I tend to let my imagination run wild with prints! The polka dot Bonny Dots Wolford dress was purchased at Wolford last season when it first came out. It sold out very quickly. I also have a matching pullover top. I love polka dots so at least where I am concerned, they aren’t moving out of my closet anytime soon. Next is an Etro dress I fell in love with at Saks Fifth Avenue. I adore the sporty scuba diver-suit shoulders & back (it reminds me a bit of Balenciaga). It was longer, down to my knees. I am 5’6” so I’m not a short girl but also not an amazon, so sometimes I must alter clothing and I did. I took the dress to my trusty tailor and she shortened it so that now the dress is a bit higher than mid-thigh. Don’t be afraid to alter an expensive item at a good tailor; it will be worthwhile in the long run! Lastly, the Chloe dress I lusted after and subsequently bought. It was quite an expensive dress- the silk and the tailoring and well, the label. It fits like a dream and is very flattering. It’s sort of grunge so it can be dressed up or down. The colors are so lovely; it reminds me of a Matisse watercolor.
